Azamara Club Cruises’ UK & Ireland managing director has been promoted into an expanded role that will encompass the EMEA region.
Richard Twynam will assume his new role, which was previously looked after by different Azamara offices, on September 1.
Twynam, who has been with Azamara for nearly five years, will now work more closely with Stuart Leven, Royal Caribbean Cruises’ managing director and vice president of EMEA.
Larry Pimentel, the line’s president and chief executive, said the expansion of Twynam’s role would help the better “orchestrate” the process and fill Azamara’s ship more efficiently.
Speaking on board Azamara Pursuit’s christening voyage, Pimentel said: “This now gives us the opportunity to look at the broader scope of business and begin to build it in appropriate ways.
“Richard is having a responsibility over the Eurozone and the EMEA area as managing director as we look to develop other regions.
“I am very happy for Richard because he has provided really great leadership and the brand has grown under him.”
Twynam said he felt “honoured” and “over the moon” about his promotion.
“I am really delighted,” he said. “This brand has got unstoppable momentum.
“To be given the opportunity to develop the EMEA and kick that forward is really exciting.”
