Probe underway after five-year-old dies on holiday in Kos

An investigation is underway following the death of a five-year-old boy on a First Choice holiday on the Greek island of Kos.

Theo Treharne-Jones, from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, was found in the swimming pool at the Holiday Village Kos in Marmari in Greece on Saturday,  June 15.

In a statement, First Choice parent company Tui said: “We are aware of the tragic incident at the Holiday Village Kos, Greece and our thoughts are with the family. Our team in resort is currently supporting the family and we will continue to assist in whatever way we can.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our primary concern and our dedicated resort team is working with the authorities and hoteliers. As the matter is currently still under investigation it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

The 341-room Holiday Village Kos is on the north coast of Kos, situated by the beach, and has three large swimming pools.
