Riviera Travel is working with Water-to-Go to offer the operator’s customers water bottles with a filtration system, to celebrate World Responsible Tourism Day (November 6).
The partnership aims to reduce single-use plastic for travellers with Water-to-Go’s personal water filtration system.
The system in the reusable water bottles means clients can use the bottles where tap water is not drinkable and regular water bottles are not refillable.
The bottles filter non-saltwater sources and eliminate 99.9% of microbiological contaminants to create clean and healthy drinking water.
Hercules Zeris, head of worldwide at Riviera Travel, said: “We’re all aware of the scourge of plastic pollution and at Riviera Travel we’ve decided to focus on reducing one specific type of pollution.
“We are very excited about our new collaboration with Water-to-Go and look forward to saving thousands of single-use plastic bottles.”
Dave Shanks, chief executive and founder of Water-to-Go, said: “Riviera Travel is a true reflection of a business that takes responsible travel seriously. The partnership will help visitors from across the world, to ensure access to clean safe drinking water without single-use plastic, vastly reducing plastic pollution in the process.”
Water bottles cost from £14.99 for a 50cl bottle and from £27.99 for a 70cl bottle.
Guests of Riviera Travel will receive a 15% discount off bottles and filters.
Water-to-Go will also donate 15% of each purchase to Riviera Travel’s chosen charity, Toilet Twinning, which helps fund a project in a poor community that will enable families to build a basic toilet and have access to clean water.
