A series of 24 hour, round-the-world ‘taster’ holidays have been unveiled today by Airtours.
Airtours Air Tours will allow travellers to experience a host of popular destinations before choosing their summer holiday.
In order to achieve the supersonic speeds required to offer these trips, the Thomas Cook brand is set to collaborate with aviation specialists Pollof Air.
Pollof Air confirmed that their new aircraft will feature revolutionary technologies including the Polar FoilTM and Jet Orientation Kinetic Emission© engines, which see flights harness the power of cloud particles to boost air speeds to never-before-seen levels.
Additional features include six-foot wide windows and a glass floor to allow for better sight-seeing opportunities, with a fly-past of the Grand Canyon near Las Vegas set to be one of the itinerary highlights.
Aircraft will also feature mood lightening technologies and revolutionary non-sensory devices, aimed at ensuring that passengers feel rejuvenated after their trip, with little to no signs of jet lag or drowsiness by the end of the 24-hour flight.
Aircraft interiors have been modeled on Airtours’ flagship ‘smartline’ resorts.
Passengers will be welcomed to a casual, colourful environment when boarding, and throughout the flight, drinks, meals and snacks from the bar will be offered as part of the in-flight service.
Fresh fruit and ice cream will be served from the ‘smartline’ trolley, and all flights will offer complimentary Wi-Fi.
Thomas Cook UK managing director, Chris Mottershead, said: “At the moment, our customers rely on the expert advice given by our retail agents and call centre staff, as well as our content-rich website, to research the holiday that’s right for them.
“Airtours Air Tours now offers customers yet another way of discovering more about the great value holiday experiences we offer before making their choice of which one’s right for them.”
Airtours Air Tours will operate at three times the speed of sound throughout the summer from Manchester airport, with an itinerary that takes in Spain, Greece, Turkey, the US, Caribbean and the Canary islands in less than a day.
The inaugural flight departs today – the 35th anniversary of the first Airtours holiday brochure, published on April 1, 1981.
