The former boss of Travel Republic Kane Pirie has been named a non-executive director of jobs review site WorkAdvisor.
Pirie was chief executive at the online travel agency (OTA) when it won a high-profile case against the CAA which had accused the company of breaching Atol consumer protection regulations.
He left in 2013 when the company was sold to Dnata.
Pirie, who has also sat on the Abta board, has invested in WorkAdvisor, which was launched last year by former Carnival UK executives Philip Price and Paul Moran.
In addition to encouraging people to review their company, WorkAdvisor posts jobs and allows employers to promote their brand.
The site has signed up Dnata, Carnival, Cosmos, Iglu, Barrhead Travel and Advantage.
“The WorkAdvisor model brings a breath of fresh air to recruitment in the travel industry,” Pirie said.
“Philip and Paul are both well-known and respected within the industry and I am delighted to be involved with this fast-growing business.”
Price said: “We are thrilled to have Kane on board, his experience in the travel industry and growing a digital business will be extremely welcome.
“Kane is a clear thinker with a straight forward approach and a proven track record. We are looking forward to working with him.”
