Ryanair passenger carryings edged up by just 2% in January to reach 12.4 million as growth was constrained by Boeing aircraft delivery delays.
The year-on-year increase came as the load factor rose from 89% to 91%.
The January performance gave the low fares airline a rolling annual total of 172.6 million passengers, a rise of 9% over the previous 12 months.
Ryanair said: “Growth was hampered by 38 delayed Boeing deliveries.”
The figures were issued after carrier warned last month that its annual growth targets had been revised down due to “prolonged delays” in the delivery of new Boeing 737s.
Europe’s largest airline said at the time that it remained hopeful that the remaining 29 aircraft in a 210-strong order would be delivered before March 2026, “enabling us to recover this delayed traffic growth in summer ’26 instead of summer ’25”.
Ryanair had 172 Boeing 737 Max 8s in its 609-strong aircraft fleet at the end of 2024.
