Time for some clarity, please

THANKS for your supportive Comment (Travel Weekly May 8) about operators undermining the professionalism of the retail trade. I wonder what the multiple holiday shops feel about their efforts being weakened by their own head offices? Let’s have some clarity of purpose.


The trade has a reputation for confusing the public with early-booking season discounts and even better late deals.


Agents need to be seen as places where assistance with complex itineraries may be found while hypermarkets, call centres and Web sites can cater for the easy bucket-and-spade holiday.
