n abta to hold june seminar on complaints


ABTA has organised another seminar to advise agents on how to deal with customer complaints. Head of consumer affairs Keith Richards will chair the Newman Street event on June 16. Other speakers include representatives from Trading Standards, Holiday Which? and Holiday Travel Watch.


n suncars launches 2001 brochure


Suncars has launched its 2001 brochure. New deals include special rates for Friday night to Monday morning hires and also reductions on deals in resorts in Portugal, France and Austria. The firm has also cut prices in the off-peak period for European rentals.


n new global scheme for hotel group


Millennium and Copthorne hotels has designed a new global scheme called Rewards for travel bookers. The deal is on offer to companies that have a Corporate Rate Agreement with the chain. Benefits of the scheme include free membership to leisure clubs, reductions on weekends and invites to special events.


n club travel 2000 in agent booking offer


Club Travel 2000 is offering agency staff £5 a booking during May and entry into a £1,000 draw. The offer covers bookings from the firm’s summer 2000 programmes. Club Travel 2000 will also pay £300 and £100 to second and third-place winners.


n GBTA chairman in line for award


Guild of Business Travel Agents chairman Don Lunn has been nominated for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2000 award. Other nominees include Jerry Bridge, of Bridge The World, and Freedom Direct founder Martin Jones. The national final is at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London on October 16.
