n sia acquires 8.3% stake in air new zealandSingapore Airlines has acquired an 8.3% stake in Air New Zealand after the New Zealand government approved SIA’s application to own up to 25% of the total ordinary shares of the national carrier. Under the New Zealand government’s guidelines for foreign ownership, 25% is the limit that a single foreign airline can hold in Air New Zealand.
n tradewinds offers cruise-and-stay deals
Tradewinds is offering a discounted cruise-and-stay package to Thailand in the latest edition of its Trade Secrets brochure. The package leads in at £799 for four nights in Bangkok followed by a five-night cruise in the South China Sea with Star Cruises. Other discounted packages to the Far East include 10 nights in Singapore and Penang, which costs from £549; seven nights in Thailand from £449; seven nights in Singapore from £499; and three nights in Hong Kong from £549.
n kyongju to host world culture expo
The city of Kyongju in southeast Korea will host a World Culture Expo from September to November, with exhibitions featuring many worldwide cultures plus music and dance performances. Some of the more unusual events include a World Puppet Festival, a Cyber Dance Show, an art exhibition by disabled people and a Teenager Festival with skateboard show, dance contests, fashion show and a graffiti art exhibition.
