Advantage in Web injection

ADVANTAGE Travel Centres has invested £150,000 on setting up its Web site, president Roger Smith has revealed.

It will also cost around £100,000 a year in running costs. But speaking at the Advantage conference in Tunisia, Smith said the site – www.advantage4travel.com – will become self-financing.

“The site would cost each agent £20,000 but we are financing it from subscriptions,” said Smith. “When companies start advertising on the site, it will finance itself.”

Meanwhile, Advantage will soon unveil plans to establish an out-of-hours call centre to take direct bookings.
