ROYAL Caribbean’s sales, marketing and operations director Pete Williams has hit out at agents who sacrifice commission to fund massive discounts on cruising product.
“The price of cruising has come down so much,” he said. “It damages the cruising brand and it means agents don’t make any commission.
“I think it’s a shame that quality products have to be treated like this. Cruising should simply be a high revenue, high yield product for agents.”
One agent, who did not wish to be named, is selling nine-night Caribbean holidays on Royal Caribbean’s new ship Voyager of the Seas, for a lead-in price of £695 per person.
