Find an effective solution to manage high phone call costs
I read with interest your front page on the trouble agents have with high phone bills (Travel Weekly May 15).In response to this I would like to point out the following:
n Paul Richer is correct in that national rate 0870 numbers give those managing call centres more flexibility on how they manage their call flow patterns.
n Rising phone bills are a consequence of price inflation.
n Many members of the public now get companies to call them back on their mobiles.
n Any operator using an 0990 premium-rated number for customer service contact deserves all they get.
So what is the solution to all this?
n Go to an independent telecoms broker, like us, and make sure that you get the best deal for the outgoing call profile your company has.
n Get an 0870 number and make the tour operator’s sales staff use it to call you.
For tour operators:
n Find a telecoms broker or consultant to advise you on setting up your numbers to the best effect.
n Even better give customers a freephone number, they are your clients after all.
I hope this advice is of assistance to your readers.
