NEW Abercrombie and Kent managing director George Morgan-Grenville is looking to improve its relationship with agents by speeding up response times to enquiries.
Morgan-Grenville, who previously ran the operator’s Thailand operation and takes over from Mike Jones who quit last October, said it was one of his major priorities.
He said agents are sometimes left waiting on the phones for too long while itineraries are checked and prices calculated.
“My aim is to get as much of our product on our systems as possible. At the moment not enough is accessible, which slows down our response time,” he said.
The new MD said he was happy with the product range but wanted to expand existing programmes. He said a chief technology officer was being recruited to oversee e-commerce projects. A Web site will be launched within three months, but on-line bookings will not be available initially.
