Lunn Poly staff hit out at ‘unsociable’ hours

LUNNPoly head office staff claim they are being forced to work an extra two-and-a-half hours a week with no extra pay.

A number of disgruntled staff contacted Travel Weekly complaining about the ‘unpopular’ and ‘unsociable’ 5.30pm finish.

They claim the board is trying to make everyone work a 37.5hr week when many of the staff only have 35hrs in their contract.

A member of staff, who did not want to be identified, said: “With low pay rises this year and worsening conditions, many ordinary staff are extremely unhappy. If managers think that forcing staff to work an extra half hour a day after five will get more work done then they have another thing coming.”

A spokeswoman for Lunn Poly said: “We need to look into it further. It must be down to some isolated people. Contracts are being agreed and renegotiated at the moment.”
