JMC seeks customers’ opinions with launch of awards scheme

Report by JANE ARCHER

AN AWARD scheme for overseas properties is to be launched by JMC.

Both hotels and self-catering apartments will be included in the Partners in Excellence scheme, which started this summer and underlines the operator’s focus on customer satisfaction.

Awards for the best two/three-star hotel, best four/five-star property, best self-catering property, top all-inclusive, best villa and best FamilyWorld hotel, will be based on customer feedback, health and safety reports and complaint levels.

Awards will be presented to properties in five categories – mainland Spain, the Canaries, Balearics, Greece and Turkey – during World Travel Market in November.

There will also be awards for properties in long-haul and any remaining destinations. JMCproduct director Alan MacLean said the initiative is designed to recognise the contribution that suppliers make to customer satisfaction and their impact on future growth.

“We need to work with our business partners to ensure they are as committed to the customer as we are,” he said.

Suppliers that achieve the required criteria will receive a certificate of commendation, while the overall winners in each category will be recognised in JMC’s brochures and presented with a plaque.

n JMC’s seat-only specialist Golden Lion Travel is offering travel agents the opportunity to win a place on one of six educationals to Grenada this autumn.

Retailers that book a flight with Golden Lion or a package with Neilson, Style, Caribbean Connection or Hayes and Jarvis will be entered into the prize draw for a place on the fam trip.
