Advice for people wishing to to develop a career in travel: “The most important quality for working in a tourist office is being able to deal with people from all walks of life. Also unflappability is a must! Being bilingual can also open up far more possibilities to you, whatever area of the industry you wish to work in. I also don’t think anything can replace first-hand knowledge of a country, so travel as much as you can.”
