3.5m reasons to get angry

Lunn Poly has provided management training companies with some great material on how not to motivate staff.


Head-office employees were told they had to work an extra two and a half hours a week with no extra pay – then they heard that Charles Gurassa, chief executive of parent Thomson, was to receive £3.5m from Preussag for steering through the takeover. But Lunn Poly staff didn’t get any sympathy from their counterparts at Going Places. One of the few staff left at Going Places HQ said: “If I finished at 5.30pm,I would have to get a new hobby to fill my spare time.”
