Budget unveils Fastbreak express service
BUDGET has launched its Fastbreak express service one year later than originally planned. The service was due to be launched in the UK last summer after being introduced in the US in 1998. It is available initially at Heathrow but Fastbreak counters are due to open soon at Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Stansted and Manchester airports.
They will also be in major city-centre locations in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester and at Euston and Kensington in London.
Fastbreak allows frequent travellers who have signed a global master agreement to collect their cars without signing any further paperwork. It replaces Budget Express, which required renters to sign a contract everytime they hired a car.
Budget International vice-president of sales and marketing Roeland Moens said because Fastbreak is a paperless transaction, renters can be on their way in seconds.
At a Fastbreak counter, renters only need to show their driving licence to collect their keys and pre-printed rental agreement.
Fastbreak has also been launched in Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland and it will be available in Ireland, Holland and Spain by the end of the year.
