Kuoni rolls out exclusive offers for money-no-object customers

Report by JANE ARCHER

KUONI has launched an exclusive programme aimed at people who want the best holiday money can buy.

The new World Class brochure went on sale last week for holidays from October this year to December next year and has an average selling price of £2,000 per person although there are also holidays for up to £35,000.

Managing director Sue Biggs said: “This is aimed at people who want the very best and have the money to buy it.”

The brochure includes some five-star product from the Worldwide programme, which is aimed at the middle to top end of the market, but more than half of the holidays are new to Kuoni as well as to the UK.

Biggs said Kuoni developed the programme because an increasing number of people are booking expensive holidays to mark a special celebration such as a honeymoon or winning the National Lottery.

She admitted expensive holidays tend to be sold direct but said this brochure is a good opportunity for agents to increase commission.

“Agents can earn an average £400-£500 commission by selling a World Class holiday,” she added.

“People do not always want the cheapest. If agents offer a good service, I am sure clients will come back.”

Kuoni Long-Haul College trainers visited the operator’s top agents last week to tell them about the product.

Sample holidays in the programme include Clipper cruises in Asia and South America, chartering a private Boeing 737 jet or Concorde, and breaks at the Royal Westmoreland Villas in Barbados.

Biggs wouldn’t quote a lead-in price, but said prices would average £2,000 per person.
