Working for Thomson at the moment is enough to drive anyone to drink. For one person though it has taken just a month at the operator for him to return to the bottle. Marketingdirector Ed Aspel is leaving Thomson to run a chain of late-night bars. Before he joined the market leader, he was at brewers Whitbread – andobviously feels boozy bars are better than sweaty boardrooms. Thomson put a brave face on his departure, saying it was “frustrating” and has pledged to find a replacement soon. Applicants from the UK, or the German, brewing industry, need not apply.
