Airtours invests £1m in Recommended Agents’ campaign

AIRTOURS is cushioning an expected fall in direct bookings to its call centre with a £1m two-week campaign to push bookings through its Recommended Agents. Sales, marketing and development director Ed Sims said direct bookings are bound to fall following Airtours’ decision to take the call-centre numbers out of the second-edition summer 2001 brochures. “May and June direct calls went through the roof. We just hope Recommended Agents will be as productive,” he said.
