National Holidays this week has decided to terminate our trading relationship with it. Why? It’s reviewed its supplier relationships and direct business needs and you guessed right – direct sales are its future.
Agents, we’ve been used. For the past three years we’ve promoted, given brochures out, praised it for being the best value for money coach operator.
We even promoted its club, giving clients addresses when booking. Those addresses are now its direct sales data. With no more commission for agents, will National reduce the cost of holidays? I think not.
And don’t forget its new booking conditions – insurance clients will now have to buy National’s insurance which we all know is more expensive than most agents’.
Its tactics and the manner in which our agency was told of this decision was unprofessional.
Agents offer a service that cannot be met over the telephone.
When will operators realise that our repeat custom year after year has nothing to do with them? Goodbye National Holidays, you will not be missed.
