n commission demandABTA’s Council of Regions is calling for commission to be paid on deposits so agents are rewarded for the work that goes into a booking. Vice-chairman Doug Wardle said deposits are often a substantial amount of money and agents should be paid as and when they make the sale. The Council also suggested tour operators reduce the amount required for deposits to boost bookings.
n linate on go route
Low-cost carrier Go is adding a second airport to its existing route to Milan. From September 11, Go will fly from Stansted to Linate, nine miles from Milan city centre.

First Choice is believed to be in takeover talks with London-based Greek specialist Goldensun. Sources claim it is part of the operator’s strategy to build up its Greek product.
n casanova set to sail
Peter Deilmann River Cruises is set to launch its ninth river ship, the92-passenger Casanova, in Venice next April. Casanova will offerseven-day sailings from Venice, with excursions to Verona, Padua, Parma and other Italian cities.
