SAirGroup invests in on-line agency
SWISSAIR’S parent company the SAirGroup has invested in an on-line travel agency that will be launched across Europe over the next few months.Called Beyoo, the new Internet portal will enable consumers to access inventories in order to make bookings for 537 airlines, including Swissair, Sabena and other members of the Qualiflyer alliance, 45,000 hotels and 38 car-rental companies.
The Web site will also offer additional services such as weather information, cultural tips, the latest currency statistics and destination information.
Swissair and Sabena’s general manager for UK and Ireland Kirk Albrow said: “The site will not push one particular airline. We are offering the entire schedule times for all flights and there is no bias.
“Price is important but at the end of the day, customers want departure and arrival times.”
Meanwhile, Swissair and its Crossair subsidiary have increased the price of their flights in response to rising fuel tariffs.
Both airlines have added an extra 3% to the price of full-fare business and economy-class flights from Switzerland to European destinations.
Albrow said fares on Sabena went up by 3% on July 5.
