n thomson boosts properties in costa del solThomson is to expand its Costa del Sol coverage in summer 2001 with three new properties. In an exclusive deal with Princess Hotels, the operator will add the Andalucia Princess and Costa del Sol Princess, both at Estepona, to its Platinum collection. It will also add the Hotel Yaramar at Fuengirola to its Gold programme. The newly built property was introduced for winter 2001 and is already half sold.
n JMCholidays adds la palma to winter programmes
JMC Holidays has introduced direct flights to La Palma from Gatwick in its second-edition Wintersun 2000/2001 brochure. The fifth and smallest of the Canaries,the island offers half-board, bed and breakfast orself-catering accommodation. The lead-in price for seven nights’ self-catering is £259 per person based on three adults sharing and departing Gatwick between January 1-18, 2001.
n meon plans increase in regional villas
Villa specialist Meon will increase its Costa del Sol properties by a third in 2000/2001. Its new brochure will featureabout 35 villas, predominantly four and five-starproperties, near Mijas. The operator took several villas off themarket last year because of excessive building work in the region. It also plans to expand in Ibiza and Minorca, where its business has increased by 11% this year. Exact figures are not available.
n longshot bolsters southern spain offers
Longshot Golf Holidays has added the Almenara GolfHotel in Sotogrande to its programme in southern Spain. Featured in the Best Golf under the Sun brochure, thefour-star hotel was built last year and has an 18-hole course. The operator offers discounted golf at Almenara and the championship Valderrama course. Prices lead in at £529 per person for seven nights.
n magic of spain extends island coverage
Magic of Spain will add the Canary islands of Fuerteventura and El Hierro, as well as Formentera, near Ibiza, to itsSummer 2001 programme. The Parador Hotel on El Hierro is the only property yet to be confirmed by the operator, which now boasts full coverage in both the Balearics and the Canaries.
