Exclusive chain seeks range of partnerships with global players

Report by LEEWINTER

SMALL Luxury Hotels of the World is aiming to set up a range of promotional partnerships with airlines and other suppliers.

The 256-member group already operates exclusive programmes with Hertz and Tag Aviation for American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders and now wants to expand the programme to work with global partners.

Each arrangement will be exclusive to a particular market sector and will offer the benefits of reciprocal brand endorsement, plus access to Small Luxury Hotels’ high-income customers.

New partners will be able to offer their clients promotional features such as room upgrades; complimentary breakfasts; late check-outs; free golf packages; spa treatments; three nights for two deals; and champagne on arrival.

Small Luxury Hotels of the World regional manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Katrin Holtkott, refused to say who had come forward so far but admitted airlines are a high priority on its shopping list.

“Previously we had regional partnerships in particular markets such as the UK, Europe and the US -Êwe’re now looking for partners who can give us a global coverage just like we do. Of course, they should be travel related so it works to the best mutual advantage.

“We would really like to link up with an airline which would have to be an international partner in order to give us that global spread we are looking for,” Holtkott added.
