n GBTA resignation
Amersham Travel has resigned from the Guild of Business Travel Agents. The agency was suspended from membership in March after it was bought by travelstore.com. Amersham Travelfounder David Giles was deputy chairman of the GBTA and due to replace Don Lunn as chairmannext year.
n white house warns BA
British Airways has been warned by the USgovernment not to use its proposed merger with KLM as a way of gaining an unfair advantage in the US market. White House official Dorothy Robyn said: “The US will not allow British Airways to use a merger with KLM as a back door to achieve greater access to our market.”
