Energis unveils new Web services for trade
NETWORK supplier Energis has launched a range of Internet-based information and booking services which it claims could save the travel industry £15m a year.Business manager for travel Mark Harris said:”Energis Travel Network is a high-speed network with Internet access, Web site hosting and a connection to viewdata.”
He said Energis would operate a flat fee pricing structure for tour operators that was cheaper than the systems operated by its rivals, Imminus and X-TANT, which charge when a search or booking is made on their networks.
On-line and traditional travel agencies can opt for a combined installation and rental payment plan, or a rental only package.
Energis has previously been a pure supplier of network services, rather than a travel trade specialist.
However, it poached the Thomas Cook account from Imminus and X-TANT, both traditional travel industry players, earlier this year (Travel Weekly February 14).
Its other travel industry partners are Going Places, Airtours and Internet start-up dreamticket.com.
