Brymon looks to step up presence in Europe

Report by LOUISE LONGMAN

BRYMON Airways is stepping up its presence in Europe with the launch of a daily service to Frankfurt from Bristol.

The British Airways subsidiary will operate the first flight from Bristol International Airport on September 4 on a Brazilian Embraer jet, the fourth of seven jets ordered by the carrier in March.

Brymon Airways general manager commercial Mike Coombes said the new route will open up more possibilities in Europe and will appeal to the local business traveller.

Brymon Airways unveiled plans to launch more European destinations in March (Travel Weekly March 13) when the airline ordered seven Embraer jets with options for 14 more.

Bristol International Airport marketing director Mike Luddy said: “We know there is a huge demand for a new route to Frankfurt because Civil Aviation Authority data tells us that approximately 180,000 people from the Bristol region fly to Frankfurt via London. With the new route we will probably get about 47% of these people.”

Brymon’s new route to Frankfurt will offer British Airways Club Europe and Euro Traveller seating.

The airline is offering an introductory fare of £99 return including airport taxes.
