Advice for people wishing to develop a career in travel: “If you are keen you will go far in a short space of time. I really love cruising but to do it you have to be very sure you want to live away from home. On a ship you are working and living with the same people every day and if you value your independence and privacy you won’t like it. It’s also quite a militaristic way of life because of all the safety rules and regulations. You have to be very flexible.”
