Agent requests prompt Gold Medal to add Web facilities

GOLD Medal Travel has added a late-booking facility ande-mail links to its Web site in response to requests from travel agents.

The operator’s site now enables retailers to make provisional bookings on-line.

When the Internet site was launched in June, agents were invited to join a focus group called the Web Pioneers.

They were asked to comment on areas where the Gold Medal new hotel, flights and brochure-ordering facility needed to be improved.

Gold Medal Travel group managing director Wayne Pierce said: “We have kept in touch with a group of about 50 agents who have started using the service on a regular basis.

“They came up with some ideas about how to improve it. Thanks to their comments some extra features have now been added.

“Agents can now make provisional bookings on-line, as long as they confirm the holiday within five days.”
