Saturn offers agents latest search facility

software specialist Saturn is to launch a search engine next month that allows clients to log onto an agent’s Web site and search and book holidays in viewdata seven days a week.

The Saturn availability and booking system database will be available to agents in two parts.

They can have just the search engine, which will enable clients using their site to find a holiday and either request the agent to contact them by e-mail or phone to make a booking.

Alternatively, an agent can provide clients with an option to book the holiday.

In this case, the client clicks the book button and is connected via viewdata to the tour operator’s system.

The booking is made using the agent’s ABTA number, which ensures the agent is paid commission.

Saturn sales executive Giuseppe Panunzio said only big tour operators such as Thomson and First Choice will be available initially but smaller companies are expected to join once SABS launches.

He said the price of the booking option has not been finalised but it will be more expensive than the search-only software, which will cost agents £200 a month.
