AMFAC Parks and Resorts to plug Web site
AMFAC Parks and Resorts, the largest operator of national parks in the US, is promoting its Web site to the UK trade as a way of securing room availability in the most popular areas. These include the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona; Zion and Bryce national parks in Utah; Death Valley National Park in California; Yellowstone in Wyoming; Mount Rushmore in South Dakota; and the Everglades in Florida.
It is urging tour operators and agents to use the site at www.amfac.com to ensure they receive the prevailing rate at the time of booking.
It also features information about the parks and their facilities, while a specific itinerary can be built up based onfirm accommodation at other national sites.
Amfac vice-president of sales and marketing Judi Lages said: “Travellers have many booking options but most simply do not have the time or inclination to do a lot of research in advance and prefer to put themselves in the hands of an agent.
“But consumers should be armed with at least some knowledge of what accommodation is available – and what it costs – before they make their reservations.”
