JOB FOCUS:
Chris Christou, general sales manager, southern division, Sunshare Vacations LtdEducation and training: three A’ levels – maths, commerce and physics. BritishAirwaysfares and ticketing course.
First travel Job: Chris worked at the Charter Flight Centre selling long-haulcharter/scheduled airline tickets. He was then given the opportunity to set up a new division Tickets and Tours dealing with the leisure and corporate market.
Advice for people wishing to develop a career in travel: “Always think of yourself as being the customer on the other end of the phone/counter when you take the details for their flight and holiday. If you give them the conviction you would expect from a consultant, you’re on a winning streak. Be determined and always have a goal to strive to.”
