n seguro holidays to drop supplements


Macclesfield-based Seguro Holidays said it will not charge a supplement on its new weekly flight from Prestwick to Alicante starting on April 1 next year. The Office of Fair Trading is investigating complaints about operators that charge Scottish clients big supplements.

n canada outlook attracts 400 agents


The Canadian Tourism Commission said more than 400 agents signed up for the Canada Outlook training programme in its launch week. Retailers who sign up before September 1 will be entered in a prize draw to win a balloon trip for two.


n wightlink splashes out on new fastcraft


Wightlink has bought new fastcraft for $4.5 million a piece in order to boost capacity on its Portsmouth-Ryde route. The two vessels, Fastcat Shanklin and Fastcat Ryde, were built in 1996 and can carry up to 370 passengers each.


n portfolio collection gets UK representation


South Africa-based accommodation specialist The Portfolio Collection has opened a UK representation, marketing and reservations office,The Africa Collection, in West Sussex. Agents booking properties in its Retreats and Country Places brochures will be paid 10% commission. The Africa Collection can also book car rental, excursions and luxury train journeys.
