Co-op Travel Direct centre
WEST Midlands Co-op has claimed its new £1 million call centre has become the chain’s best producing outlet just two months after opening. It said Co-op Travel Direct may need to double its 40-strong reservations team to cope with demand.
Chief executive Ben Reid said: “Until now, our shop in Cannock has been the major branch but the response to the call centre has been a surprise.”
Customers can book through the call centre, which is open until 10pm, by e-mail, telephone or fax. A registration scheme also enables customers to indicate preferred holiday dates and types via the Web.
The call centre is part of a major expansion by the 20-branch chain.
