DEMAND for non-city destinations has led British Airways Holidays to expand its range of self-drive itineraries in Australia under the new branding of Great Escape tours.
With the launch of its 2000/01 Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific programme, the long-haul operator has introduced self-drive itineraries taking in the Blue Mountains, the Gold Coast, Fremantle and the Margaret River.
Around 60% of tours featured in the brochure are new.
Worldwide commercial manager Katherine Daniel said:”Demand for destinations away from the traditional gateway cities of Sydney, Brisbane and Perth has prompted this.”
She added the new Great Escape brand better described the tours than the previous Short-Break Adventure name.
The range of itineraries has also been expanded in New Zealand with tours departing from Auckland and Queenstown.
Stopover options now include the Cook Island, Moorea and Bora Bora in French Polynesia, South America, Las Vegas and South Africa.
