PERSONALITIES who have made lasting contributions to the travel industry are to be honoured at this year’s World Travel Market.As part of WTM’s 21st birthday celebrations, organisers have been asking people to nominate industry figures to join a hall of fame, called Tribute 21.
The final selection will be made by WTM’s advisory council later this month and the finalists will be invited to attend WTM’s special 21st opening ceremony on the first morning of the event on November 13. WTM exhibition director Fiona Jeffery said:”The last 21 years have seen dramatic developments and changes such as the package-holiday boom, the expansion of the global tourism-for-all culture, product diversification and now, of course, e- commerce.
“There have been many achievements and many thousands of people who have made them happen. We want to honour some of these people.”
