A&K moves to tap into activity sales

UPMARKET operator Abercrombie and Kent is to launch a new Active brand later in the year to tap into the growing trend for adventure holidays.

Among the featured destinations will be Africa, Costa Rica, Nepal, Australia, Belize, Fiji and India.

Planned activities include trekking on Mount Kilimanjaro, scuba diving in the Maldives , white-water rafting in Uganda, riding in Chile and driving across Jordan.

Rafting, canoeing, riding, scuba diving and snorkelling will also be included.

“This is being put together in response to the increasing emphasis on more intrepid and more personally challenging travel choices,” a spokeswoman said. The programme will be launched in June.
