Bridge ditches direct numbers
BRIDGE Travel is to drop direct-booking numbers from its 2001 brochures in a move to placate agents.
But sales director John Bellenger said it was unlikely to have an effect on sales.
“We had numbers on every page but they have been removed in order to show our commitment to agents,” he said.
“But I don’t think it will make a difference to either direct sales or those made through retailers.”
He denied the move was influenced by Airtours, which has also removed direct numbers from its second-edition brochures.
“We had planned to do this anyway,” said Bellenger.
Direct numbers will still appear on the inside cover of its brochures.
