Try the honest approach, SIA
While one may not like British Airways’ new booking fee arrangements, perhaps the airline is being more honest than Singapore Airlines.
Singapore Airlines quotes a fare of £645 (plus tax) for a return London-Singapore ticket flying mid-December if a customer buys direct. The cheapest fare available to agents buying direct is £775 less 9% – £705 net. If we purchase through Travel 2 or Gold Medal, the best fare is £702 less 10% – £632 – leaving us with a margin of £13 to compete with the fare available direct. This is less than what we would earn from BA in booking fees!
