Travel Channel to mark Olympics with series of shows on Australia

THE TRAVEL Channel is running an Australia promotion throughout this month to mark the Sydney Olympics.

Programmes on the food, culture and history of Australia will be shown every day at 3pm, 3.30pm and 9pm.

The promotional shows will include Floyd on Oz, Railway Adventures Across Australia, Bligh of the Bounty and Earthwalkers.

The channel is also holding a competition to win a £3,000 holiday for two to Sydney and the Hunter Valley in association with Quest Travel.

The Travel Channel is carried by Sky Digital Satellite and NTL and Telewest Digital Cable every day between noon and 1am.

Its shopping arm, Travel Deals Direct, which allows viewers to browse and book packages off the screen, runs between 7am and 12pm.
