Telewest adds new services to Endeavour
TELEWEST has launched a raft of services for agents following a major overhaul of its Internet-based booking system Endeavour.
The new features include Web site hosting facilities, live travel news, an electronic message board, a secure link to Worldspan and a directory of travel agents.
Existing information ande-mail services have been improved.
Head of travel and leisure Keith Webber said: “Endeavour now offers more value and a better range of services so agents can run their businesses more efficiently.”
Telewest also plans to transfer the 600 agents already using Endeavour onto a new, more robust system over the next two weeks.
Webber claims this system will be strong enough for many agents to use at the same time without crashing.
Keith Emery of Celtic Tours in Cardiff criticised the Endeavour system earlier this year because it kept crashing (Travel Weekly June 5).
The company subsequently added extra servers as an interim measure, while it prepared for a full upgrade.
Rival network supplier X-TANT is scheduled to unveil a revamp to its booking service Traveleye later this week.
Webber: the revamped system will offer agents more value and a better range of services than the old one
