KUONI’S rash of European deals has continued with the acquisition of a Danish tour operator and four-branch travel agency for an undisclosed sum.
The deals for Dane Tours and Kisbye Rejser further strengthen Kuoni’s position in Scandinavia where it recently bought a 45% stake in Swedish operator Apollo Resor.
Dane Tours specialises in the US, Thailand and city breaks and is based on scheduled flights. It carried 50,000 passengers in 1999.
A Kuoni spokesman: “This expands our core scheduled business which has excellent growth prospects in Scandinavia.”
The travel agencies are based in east Denmark, giving Kuoni extra distribution.
The two operations had a combined profit in 1999 of around £250,000.
