Seminar to highlight impact of digital revolution on trade

A TWO-DAY seminar studying the radical changes in distribution is being held in London next month.

Organised by Genesys, the Travel Technology Consultancy, the seminar, entitled Digital Distribution in Travel, will focus on the digital revolution and its impact on traditional distribution methods. It will also look at the changing role of high-street travel agents.

Seminar chairman Paul Richer, who is senior partner at Genesys, said distribution is the single most important issue concerning travel companies.

“Rapid technological developments are making it increasingly difficult to keep up with what is happening and yet it is more vital than ever not to be left behind,” he said.

Subjects covered will include maximising the potential ofe-commerce and developing and maintaining customerloyalty.

Among the speakers are Travel Channel commercial director Gary Wardrope, First Choice distribution managing director Peter Shanks and Destinex.com chief executive officer Tony Bennett.

It takes place at The Meridien Waldorf on October 18-20. The seminar costs £1,291 or £1,398 to attend a workshop as well.
