More troubles yet to come?

JUST as we told you two months ago, British Airways has had to postpone its plan to axe agents’ commission payments on January 1 next year (see front page).

BA has blamed agents for not adapting quickly enough.

Is this a wise strategy we wonder? It’s a bit like blaming petrol pickets for a drop in the price of fuel.

The last thing agents want is commission cuts and if they have the power to prevent or stall them, then that’s surely what they will do. Will we see some other “problems” cropping up before this controversial policy is finally taken on board by agents?
