A DEDICATED Holiday Hotline has been created for travellers making last minute bookings through Holidays by Phone, the call centre division of the Urbanweb conglomerate. HBP advertises departures within 48 hours on its Teletext page 299 and Internet sites such as Cheapflights.com. Dedicated telephone numbers will ensure Hotline callers receive the highest priority response from call centre staff. Steve Endacott, managing director of HBP said: “We are applying the supermarket doctrine of express check-outs to the travel market. Customers booking a holiday this late should be given priority, since they are much more likely to be converted into a booking than a customer just ringing to check general availability.” HBP has agreements with major tour operators allowing it to sell heavily discounted deals by an additional £50. This means they can beat most last-minute deals offered by high street travel agents.
