Time for retailers to complain

I WISH to add my support to the views aired by Martin Churchill of Holmes Travel (Travel Weekly January 17).

The sad fact that airlines have clearly been swept along by the so-called Internet revolution is a very worrying development for agents.

Dumping unsold seats on the travel sites instead of giving agents the chance to sell them at the same very low prices can only speed up the move by customers away from traditional sales channels to the Web.

Agents must complain loud and hard to airlines which discriminate against retailers in this way.
