Air Jamaica flags twin-centres

Carrier plans to expand range of island services

Air Jamaica is urging UK travel agents to add an extra dimension to a two-week holiday in Jamaica by promoting it as a twin-centre holiday destination.

An Air Jamaica spokeswoman said: “When people go to Jamaica they are increasingly choosing to add another Caribbean island.

“The most popular twin-centre holidays are from Jamaica to Cuba. This route works really well and it’s a favourite in terms of filling seats.”

Air Jamaica is also looking to increase the number of Caribbean islands it flies to, with plans to offer a service to Trinidad and Tobago from Montego Bay in November on sister airline the Eastern Caribbean Express.

It is also looking at the Grenadines and the French islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Air Jamaica’s Eastern Caribbean Express service was launched in April, debuting with a route from Montego Bay to St Vincent. From Montego Bay the Eastern Caribbean Express flies to the Cayman Islands, Nassau in the Bahamas, Havana and Cuba.

Other favourites for twin-centre holidays with the airline are Jamaica to Barbados, Jamaica to the Bahamas and Jamaica to St Lucia.
