THE Association of Independent Tour Operators has parted company with executive manager Julia Hendry.
Chairman John Bennett declined to comment on her sudden departure other than to confirm that Hendry had left. Other AITO members also refused to discuss the issue.
Sources said Hendry clashed with influential figures within AITO who disliked her management style.
“This was not an amicable split and could end up in the courts,” the source said. “Julia was very capable at her job and achieved a lot but there was a clash of personalities and the relationship was deteriorating.”
Hendry, who joined AITO in April 1997, declined to comment. Her replacement is currently being recruited.
